Ease of Use
The Frigidaire FAD704DWD is able to protect your home from both mildew and mold caused by excess moisture, while also helping to eliminate bacteria in the air that can turn a simple, natural thing like breathing into a difficult task.
It comes packed with a range of useful features, including full-function electronic controls, a washable filter, a collection container with level indicator, to name just a few.
It seems as if users really quite like the FAD704DWD, judging by its average rating of 4.2 out of 5.0, although this isn’t to say that it doesn’t have a couple of faults.
How Does it Work?
The way in which the FAD704DWD works is simple. The fan pulls moisture-laden air across the dehumidifying coil, then the coils either draw moisture from the air or condense to ensure that dry, warm air flows into the room.
The moisture that is removed from the air is collected in the bucket, and it’s good to know that the slide-out bottom allows for easy access to the filter.
The Frigidaire is well designed. For example, it features integrated side handles, a top handle and caster wheels for ease of use.
The water bucket is located in the front of the unit for easy access, and the inclusion of a carry handle and splash guard ensures that emptying the bucket is a simple, hassle-free process.
There are 3 water removal options available, including continuous drainage hook up, optional condensation pump and drained in removable bucket. However, you should keep in mind that there’s a chance that you may spill some water, as larger buckets tend to be slightly harder to empty.
It’s also nice to see that there is a full tank alert system that informs you when it’s time to empty the water bucket, and the automatic shut-off feature goes to work when the water tank is nearing full capacity
The humidity control enables you to control the percentage of humidity exactly to your liking, ranging from 35-85% humidity. The Frigidaire FAD704DWD is able to dehumidify a generous 70 pints per day, which is a good 20 more pints than the Frigidaire FAD504DWD, and is suitable for rooms measuring up to 1400 sq. ft.
The 2 speed fan (low and high) comes in handy when there is less humidity in the air and you want to run the unit on slower speeds. Clearly, this also results in a better way to control energy use and reduce the noise level.
The washable filter is one of the best aspects of the Frigidaire. Sometimes you find that filters on dehumidifiers don’t work as advertised, i.e. they do a poor job at reducing room odors, bacteria and other airborne particles. Fortunately, this isn’t the case with the FAD704DWD, as it is very effective at reducing these three things.
The fan is surprisingly quiet but you should still know that it is audible. However, it’s unlikely that the noise will bother you or others when the unit is running.
The Frigidaire FAD704DWD efficiency certainly can’t be doubted. This is because the unit operates at a low temperature, using less energy and thus saving money; yet still manages to perform effectively.
The FAD704DWD is backed by a 5-year sealed system and 1-year full parts & labor warranty.
Frigidaire FAD704DWD User Reviews
The general consensus is that the FAD704DWD effectiveness can’t be faulted. However, there are other things that users seem to like.
Many have stated that the unit runs quietly, even on its high speed setting. As one user puts it, “the noise level is remarkably low. You can easily have a conversation standing next to it.”
The electronic controls have been praised, particularly the way in which the unit can be set to an exact humidity level rather than a broad percentage.
Users have said that the washable filter is “easy to remove and clean,” and that the unit is very simple to use, particularly as the control panel is well laid out and clearly marked.
However, a few users have said that the collection container is difficult to empty as they haven’t found a “decent way to tip the bucket to pour the water out.” A couple of users also received units that leaked.

The only thing to complain about is how the collection container is a little difficult to empty.
Anything Else You Should Know?
The only thing left to say is that one user sums it up best when he says, “Nicely designed, quiet, space efficient size, works well.” Taking everything into account it’s hard to disagree with that statement.
